Doline has adapted seamlessly into the Grid aesthetic. The release seems right at home even this early on in the label's seemingly fertile career. With an EP on the widely admired Paradoxe Club run by De Grandi, plus another for Teki Latex's Sound Pellegrino imprint, Resident Advisor stated on the latter; ‘Doline seems to put more work into songwriting than he does into functionality—this is one of his best attributes’ and this couldn’t be more true.
EP-opener 'Delicate Time' is filled with floaty arpeggios and Andy Stott-esque basslines which are tied together eloquently with jolting delays and endless reverb. 'Creative Orchad' features shuffling, angsty percussion atop chilling melodies. 'Cumengéite' is a low-end heavy, sound design operation with a dusting of glistening tones. The EP closer portrays a deep and hefty laser-sharp drum groove paired with otherworldly pads.
‘Gray Bird In A Gilded Cage’ is a robust workout of the Parisian's technical and creative abilities. We would give a limb to hear this one on a system.

despite the bargain bin price tag, these are all highly functional, polished beats: knackered, off kilter and bass heavy. personally my favorite collection from piezo yet, “Eux” is on some kinda low slung fkd up chopped n slopped Memphis clown shit Harrison Phinney
